When it comes to the well-being of animals, Cindy Embrey of Avenue Barket has the biggest heart of anyone I know.
I had just moved back to Dallas from Los Angeles and had lunch with Cindy. I mentioned that I may want to adopt a dog soon and she carefully quizzed me on what type of dog would be good for me.
We nailed it down to the following:
1. A small lap dog who could get in and out of the doggie door in my kitchen.
2. A female dog.
3. A rescue.
4. Cindy suggested a Chiuahua.
Within five minutes the phone rang. It was a friend of Cindy's who had the exact dog we spoke of. She is a toy chiuahua and of course, I drove to the Vet where she had been recuperating from abuse. Apparently, she was thrown out of a car and left for dead on the side of the road.
Needless to say, Lilly and I bonded instantly . Cindy was right there with us, helping to guide Lilly back into being a loving and trusting dog. Thank you Cindy for being so awesome!
With much love, Marion and Lilly!
